Location

Any location in Europe. Home-office based with an estimated travel component of 30% across Europe.


Job Description

This is an individual contributor position which reinforces an existing global team and reports directly into the Director of Product Management for one of the four main product categories.

The hired candidate will lead specific packaging product lines for the Food and/or Beverage markets to promote circularity, enhance profitability and accelerate growth. This position works closely with Sales, Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain, Operations and Finance

Core Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Execution of a product / market / asset strategy and roadmap to optimise profitability, return on investment and growth across the product lifecycle.
  • Guide market positioning and market pricing, directing the business towards optimal asset utilization and most efficient deployment of capital. Support the business with capital expenditure requests.
  • Drive impactful product-based projects, through strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Co-ordinate the marketing mix of the product line across end markets (food and/or beverage). This includes: (i) Recommend and execute market-informed pricing strategy for relevant product / market combinations, (ii) Improve the competitive positioning of the product portfolio, including supporting the innovation and promotion of best-in-class circular solutions and (iii) New product development.
  • Ensure effective communication of the product range, including supporting specific customer presentations and broader marketing collateral. Organize support documentation for Sales, assist with product line training when needed and ensure accurate representation of product line (e.g. website, promotional materials, etc.).
  • Coordinate market and competitive intelligence. Collect, analyse and effectively communicate voice of the customer, consumer. Monitor competitive and market trends, observing growth opportunities and proposing portfolio optimization and enhancement opportunities.

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or any other product management related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of product management experience in an international packaging company, ideally in the field of food and/or beverage packaging
  • Financial acumen to understand cost models, value selling/market pricing, P&L levers and margin management
  • Strong analytical skills, commercially astute with proven project management capabilities
  • Ability to think strategically, identify and prioritise areas of opportunity and lead appropriate action. Experienced in driving sustainability initiatives
  • Strong multi-cultural leadership skills, operating effectively with people at all levels and across all functions of the organisation 
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills
  • Availability for travelling across Europe around 30%
