Medtronic is hiring an Employee and labor relations partner responsible for partnering with country leaders and HRBPs in building strong relationships between employees, leaders and employee representatives/Unions, where applicable, at country level, eventually taking a proactive approach to employee and labor relations by identifying higher-level employee trends, recommending solutions that address root cause of issue, and partnering with leadership on execution.
In the role, you will act a key partner to leaders in driving employee relations strategies, while maintaining a neutral position and labor relations strategies and administration.
A Day in the Life
• Lead project management and process for reductions in force to include consulting with Managers, HR Business Partners, Legal, Finance and Security.
• Develop materials and resources to support process, ensuring an equitable and consistent selection process.
• Manage severance analysis, adverse impact analysis, legal review, works councils/employee representatives and/or union consultation and documentation, wherever applicable, training, scheduling, notifications, communications, and transition plans.
• Proactively reduce Employee and Labor Relations related risk through risk assessments and actionable feedback. Conduct training and coaching of managers/leaders on skills and techniques.
• Develop effective relationships with the business to promote good employee and labor relations across the organization.
• Deploy Labor relations activities locally with HR Business Partner and Senior Business leaders. Coordinates and connects with applicable councils, as needed (e.g., works councils, unions, health and safety councils, etc.).
• Coordinate and conduct meetings with WC/Employee representatives, Unions, wherever applicable, in close collaboration with local stakeholders.
• Assess and advise HR and Leaders on ensuring and implementing correct and appropriate consultation/ information/ negotiation process that mitigates risks, costs and maintains corporate image in close collaboration with HR and leaders.
Must Haves
• Bachelor's Degree
• 7-10 years of HR experience within big, corporate companies with a matrix organization
• Fluency in English and French
• Experience in the Swiss Legal Framework
• Experience providing strategic partnership with leaders by leveraging data/metrics to identify trends and proactively address
• Experience in employee and labor relations
• Demonstrated knowledge of employment law
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc)
• Experience in project management, program/process design, as well as process improvement skill set.
• Ability to provide strategic, proactive partnership to leaders
• Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal awareness
